SA Pine is our go-to for everyday canvases — perfect for schools, studios, and Sunday painters. It’s budget-friendly and works beautifully for sizes up to 600mm wide. Beyond that, it starts to do the twist (and not in a good way).
If you’re going big or want something more stable and long lasting, Spruce is your guy. It’s kiln-dried, which means it’s been heat-treated to get rid of moisture (and any sneaky bugs), so it won’t warp, bend, or surprise you with a beetle infestation mid-brushstroke.
We stretch 100% Cotton Duck (loomstate) canvas over our frames — it’s thick, durable, and loved by professional artists. Once stretched, we give it three coats of non-toxic universal primer, so your paint glides on like a dream — no weird blotches or paint sinks.
